Serena Nayee DVM

Hello! My name is Serena Nayee (DVM, UGA CVM '20). Fishers, Indiana has been home to myself and my family for over 25 years. After graduating high school, I completed my Bachelor of Science in Microbiology at Ohio State University, and received my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine.

Within veterinary medicine, I have significant interests in emergency medicine and development of affordable and accessible urgent/preventative healthcare (clinical and policy) to diversify the veterinary field and commit to the value of One Health. Recently, I founded Chapter VIII: Veterinary Inclusion and Intersectionality Initiative, to promote inclusive advocacy and education, intersectional art and story-sharing, communication workshops, community mentorship, and diversifying professional experience.

Outside of veterinary medicine, I enjoy writing poetry and short literary fiction, singing, reading, and filming/editing videos!

Lead Veterinary Technician

JEANNE GENTRY

Jeanne started at VetCheck in June 2019 and is a lead technician. She has been in the veterinary field for 19 years, starting out as a kennel assistant. Jeanne is married with two kids - a daughter and a son - and one fur baby (for now) who is an 80-pound mixed breed named Duke. Jeanne has also owned cats, dogs, a rabbit, a hamster, lizards, birds, and fish while having some experience with ferrets. While a pygmy goat is on her want list, she will settle for more cats and dogs. In her spare time, she likes to either spend time with family at home or go to the gym for a good workout session.

During her years of experience, she is always learning something new every day and has developed a liking for behavior and learning more of a “fear free” approach with her patients. At a very young age, she knew her love and passion for animals would lead her to the veterinary field and she has no regrets. Jeanne can’t wait to see your fur babies!

HOLDEN LESTER RVT

Holden Lester is a Veterinary Technician who recently graduated from IBC’s Vet Tech Institute in the class of November 2019. After his time studying, he also went on to pass the VTNE (the nation’s licensing exam) and is currently in the process of obtaining his RVT license. Holden began pursuing veterinary medicine almost directly out of high school because of his love for animals and interest in the medical field. While he initially planned on becoming a veterinarian, the long years of veterinary schooling and cost of classes pushed him to nursing. He sees this as an opportunity to enhance his own skills and knowledge to maybe one day return to school. For now, Holden is ready to help any pet in need as part of one of the best teams he’s ever known.

Her compassionate and caring nature puts both patients and owners at ease.
